Compass Bank Plantings

EFWI'S, EASTSIDE BLOSSOMS committee, continues their efforts to beautify East Fort Worth and the roadways from E. Loop 820 to the Fort Worth Central Business District. The project also includes Oakland Blvd. and Beach Street plantings and the entries into Gateway Park.

Today, City Park Forestry personnel, pictured below, began the planting of 96 Texas Redbud trees along the south boundary of Quanah Park Park. This will beautify the portion of Randol Mill Road that adjoins the park. Funds for the trees were provide by the Amon G. Carter Foundation. By getting help from the City Park Department, ESB committee will be able to plant many more trees.

Saturday, 26 trees were planted in clusters on the SE and SW corners of Oakland Blvd. and Randol Mill / E 1st Street.The supervision of the SWC was supervised by FW Park Forester Melinda Adams. Compass Bank volunteers worked on both corners for a third Saturday bringing their total volunteer plantings to 147.
